Three great drummers on the same stage. I am not so familiar with Murray. He was Cecil Taylor’s drummer, and was a free-jazz guy. Elvin Jones and Blakey are, obviously, more familiar. Jones was Coltrane’s drummer for years. Blakey established the Jazz Messengers, and was responsible for cultivating many young players, including the Marsalis brothers. Blakey is in the dashiki with the gold chain and wears the perennial smile. Jones is in the suit: always a gentleman.
